1. General information
Abu Dhabi is a city on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf, the capital of the emirate of the same name and the federal state of the United Arab Emirates. Currently, the city is the second largest settlement in the country and its main industrial and financial center. Abu Dhabi produces more than half of the UAE’s national income, being the capital of the largest oil-producing emirate. The city is home to 1.4 million people, which is 2/3 of the total population of the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Unlike neighboring Dubai, the capital of the UAE performs more administrative than tourist functions. Here is the residence of the head of the federal state, government offices.
