Azerbaijan is the largest and economically most developed country in the Transcaucasus. According to the ethnic composition of the country’s population of more than 10 million people, the share of Azerbaijanis is about 92%. Other nationalities are Talyshs, Russians, Armenians, Lezgins. In short, among the main Azerbaijani traditions, Eastern customs of hospitality, ancient folk ceremonies of matchmaking and weddings, Muslim funeral rites and religious holidays prevail.
