Yerevan is the capital of Armenia, its largest cultural and economic center. This city with a million inhabitants has an unusually interesting and long history. The city was founded, according to archaeological data, in 782 BC. king Argishti-I as a fortress of Erebuni on the northern borders of his country. That is, modern Yerevan is more than a quarter of a century older than Rome.
Over the millennia that have passed since then, the Armenian capital has been repeatedly invaded by enemy troops, destroyed by natural disasters, and has seen unprecedented ups and downs. But every time Yerevan came back to life literally from the ashes, once again becoming the most important city of Armenia. In connection with such an ancient and turbulent history, the city is a very interesting tourist attraction.
